Abstract: There are two kinds of VHMS silver deposits in China.The first is the rift VHMS silver deposit,which is tectonically located in continental rifts.This kind of silver mineralization is in control of volcanic activities of alkali dorgalite series.Ag and Cu are main mineralizing elements.The second is the island arc VHMS silver deposit located in island arcs.This kind of silver mineralization is closely related to volcanic activities of calc-alkaline series.Ag,Pb and Zn are main mineralizing elements.The most important mineralization of the two kinds of silver deposits,which are hosted in trachyandesite and rhyolite,occured in the late stage of the whole volcanic activities.
