Abstract: The bauxite deposit in Boloven Plateau is located in the southeast of Champasak Province, southern Laos. Drilling, trenching and analysis of samples show that the ore bodies, which occur in Quaternary weathering residual sediments, are lateritic type bauxite, formed by weathered and leached basalt. The burial depth is 760 m above sea level and above the base level of erosion. The proved reserve is about 8 million tons, with total reserves about 60 million tons. With analysis of the geological exploration result, the article introduces the genetic characteristics and occurrence regularity of the deposit, as well as prediction to the ore-searching prospects.
