Abstract:
The Liaohe(rock) Group, as the very important strata in Liaoning Province, is rich in minerals. However, controversies about the strata remain, like deformation phases. The regional E-W-trending penetrative foliation formed by longitudinal displacement with many microscopic residual traces is the main structural feature. From the view of protolith formation, it has experienced at least the process similar to "Atlantic stage" and "Pacific stage", rather than a declined rift valley. Through comprehensive structural analysis, it is believed that all the structural features formed in the long progressive deformation of ocean basin closure-compressional orogeny belong to the same structure. Thus the Liaohe (rock) group should be the result of one-phase structure.
