Abstract:
The Shenshan Fe-Cu deposit in Inner Mongolia is of typical skarn type in the middle section of Daxinganling metallogenic belt. Two contact zones from north to south occur around Yilite intrusion and the residual Zhesi formation inside the intrusion, generally distributed in NE 45-50° with lengths about 1200 m and 3000 m, respectively, from east to west. The orebodies are hosted in the skarn dominated by epidote and garnet in the contact zone, while partially distributed in faults or interlayer detachment faults of exocontact zones. Altogether 22 orebodies including 7 main orebodies are delineated with single characterized by small-scaled, complex shape and high iron content.
