Abstract:
The concentrated regions of gold mineralization,as the basic gold mineralizing units in the crust, are the geochemical provinces of gold element. They are the comprehensive expression of the material fields, energy fields and metallogenic spaces of the crust, reflecting the heterogeneity of gold distribution in the crust. In a concentrated region, accompanied by various geologic events during the geologic history, different types of gold deposits with dissimilar ages have formed.Even for a single deposit, there are multi-stage superimpositions with different genesis. Thus in some regions, gold-deposits display congenesis and inheritance. The gold bearing formations developed in concentrated regions are the important foundation for mineralization. One of the most important matters in identifying and delimiting the concentrated regions of gold mineralization is to study the range and boundary of the region. To achieve that, the distribution of known gold deposits and occurrences should be considered as the direct indicator. The base for delimitation is the range of gold geochemical blocks and auriferous formations. The boundaries of concentrated regions should be the regional tectonic belts or contacts that control the gold formations and the structural magmatic activities closely related to gold metallization.By such criteria, the Beishan concentrated region of mineralization is identified as an example.
