Abstract:
Fluid inclusions, trapped in the ore and gangue minerals, are fossil fluids of ancient mineralized hydrothermal systems.Fluid inclusion data, including temperature, pressure, salinity, density, composition etc.,can be used as a constraint to help understanding the processes and environments of ore deposition. This paper reviews fluid inclusion data in mesothermal lode,epithermal,Carlin-type,porphyry and skarn gold deposits.Fluid inclusion petrography, homogenization temperature, decripitation temperature and composition, particularly gaseous composition, can be applied in both regional and local exploration programs for gold.
