Abstract: In the paper, four examples of gold deposits are given as follows:Zhilingtou in zhejiang, Tuanjiegou in Heilongjiang, Erdaogou in Liaoning and Hishikari in Japan. The authors have presented that the orebody of volcanic rock type of gold deposit occured in volcanic rock and underlying basement rock series of volcanic rock.The significance of basement rock series in mineralization of volcanic rock type of gold deposit are as follows:1) the protolith of basement rock usually contained mafic and ultramafic rocks and high abundance of gold;2) the basement rock with high content of carbon is beneficial to gold mineralization;3) the corresponding uplifting parts of basement block is the favourable area of mineralization.
