Abstract
Heiiongtan-Wangjiawan gold deposit is located in the south of Tongbei Mts of joint area between North China and Yangzi plates. In the gold deposit area there are Proterozoic metamorphozed intermediate-basic and inter medizte-acidic volcanic rocks and pyroclastics, and in the west of the area lndosinian and Yanshanian granites are distributed in large area. The minerlization belt is controlled by northwest-trending structures and concordent with the extending oi secondary halo assemblage of As, Au and Ag. The ore-controlling fault belt is of ductile-brittle thrust shearing type in early stage, then brittle right lateral strike siiping and oblique tnrust sliping from south to north and finally superposed by extension normal fault. Hydrothennal alteration is represented by mainly silicification, serialization and pyritization, and then K-feldsparization and carbonation. The alteration is derective relation to mineralization. The gold ores may be classified into altered rock type, altered cataclastic rocks type and quartz vein type and these these types are visibly zoned verticily and horizon-tally. The ores types are distinctly different from each other in spatial distribution, mineral association, gold fineness, occurrence of gold and silver, REE content and rock -forming oxides content. The orebodies are lenticular, vein -like and layered in occurrence. According to the reiation between hydrothermal alteration and mineralization, the main mineralizing process may be divided into hydrothermal and supergene phases. It is considered that the ore materials are of multiple sources, e. coming from wall rocks arid Qijianfeng granite mass,on the basis of composition of fluid inclusions in quartz of ores, isotopic character and REE. Ore-forming hydrothermal solution is composed mainly of subground hydrothermal solution (brine) added with rnagmatic water. So,the gold deposit is of subground hydrothermal solu-tion(brine) and magmatic water mixed hydrothermal type.
