Abstract
A series of gold deposits and spots occured in Late Jurassic volcanic rock zone of north Huaiyang region, Anhui province. They can be divided into three types:hypabyssal magmatic, subvolcanic and volcanic hydrothermal types,The zone located in north of Dabie collision orogenic belt bounded by the Mozitan-Tongcheng,the Jinzai-Shucheng deepseated fault in south and north respectively, with truncated by Tancheng-Lujiang fault zone in east and extends westwards into Henan province, The basement of the volcanic rock zone consists of Paleoproterozoic Dabie Group complex and Sinian Foziling Group. Their primary rocks are a suite of basic volcanic-sedimentary rock formation with the mafic-ultramafic rock as a primary mineral source bed of gold. The tectonic development, Mesozoic magmatism and gold-mineralization are controlled by the Mozitan-Tongcheng deep fault. The distribution of the three types gold deposits is characterized by vertical zonation, similar to a building with three storeys, which has important significance for exploration of the gold deposit in this area.
