Abstract
A detailed research on polished sections and thin sections shows that the major minerals of Wulan Wuzhuer copper deposit are pyrite, chalcopyrite, magnetite, pyrrhotite, arsenopyrite, sphalerite, wolframite, cassiterite and so on. According to analysis of metallic mineral assemblage, compositions and fluid inclusions, it is concluded that the metallic minerals were mainly formed in a high sulfur fugacity and reduced environment. The ore deposit underwent cassiterite-polymetal and chalcopyrite-polymetal metallogenic stages. Combining the study of regional and orefield geology, the deposit is considered to be of meso-hydrothermal copper type.
