    THE MESO-NEOPROTEROZOIC TECTONO-STRATIGRAPHIC DIVISION ON THE EPICONTINENTAL MOBILE BELT IN NORTHERN LIAONING PROVINCE

    • There exists a series of Meso-Neoproterozoic tectonic melanges and ophiolitic melanges in Jianping-Fuxin-Tieling area of northern Liaoning Province. Their original rocks are volcanic rocks, epicontinental clastic sedimentary rocks, and ophiolite of volcanic and island arc tholeiitic series or calcium alkali series. The rocks coexist closely, distributing in a narrow and long belt in the Late Precambrian orogenic belt in northern Liaoning. The rock series could be subdivided into Weijiagou rock group and Kaiyuan rock group (including Shenjiapuzi rock formation, Zhaobeishan rock formation and Banshigou rock formation).
