DISCOVERY AND SIGNIFICANCES OF THE GEOMORPHOLOGIC REMAINS OF MARINE EROSION IN YIWULU MOUNTAIN, WESTERN LIAONING PROVINCE

    • This paper briefly introduces the discovery of geomorphologic remains of marine erosion in Yiwulu Mountain (866.6 m above sea level), Western Liaoning Province. The types of shape, and possible forming time and mechanism of the marine erosion are discussed. This discovery supplies a scientific basis for not only qualitative but also quantitative analysis of the neotectonic rising movement and fluctuation of sea level in Eastern China, and furthermore adds favorable conditions to the application for world natural and cultural heritage of the Yiwulu Mountain scenic spot.
