STUDY ON THE CHARACTERS AND MULTIPURPOSE UTILIZATION OF MARBLE IN DAXING, SICHUAN PROVINCE

The Daxing marble mine in Sichuan Province is located in the tectonic schist of Moxi ductile shear zone on the west edge of Yangtze ancient plate. The ore body occurs in the top member of Lower Permian, with reserves of a medium deposit. Study on the physical and chemical properties of the ore indicates that the quality of the ore satisfies the international and industrial standards. The multipurpose utilization of the marble involves decorating plate, calcium carbonate packing, sculpture handicraft, profiled stone material etc. In a word, the quality of Daxing marble ore is excellent. Its multipurpose utilization will be of benefit to resources, economy, environment and society.
