ENLIGHTENMENT FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF PGE DEPOSIT EXPLORATION IN RUSSIAN FAR EAST

The exploration for PGE (platinum group elements) deposits in Russian Far East has made a great progress. It is found that the mineralization of PGE is closely correlated to that of gold in this region. The PGE metallogenesis is also related to circular-zoning basic-ultrabasic complexes in both space and genesis. PGE mineralization has been discovered in black shale and lignite deposits. With the guide of such study result and survey, some PGE deposits are found and proved. There is a similar metallogenic background in Northeast China to Russian Far East. Therefore, the progress of study and survey is significant to the exploration for PGE deposits in China.
