GEOCHEMISTRY AND SIGNIFICANCE OF ERDAOGOU GOLD DEPOSIT IN BEIPIAO, LIAONING PROVINCE

    • The Erdaogou gold deposit in Liaoning Province, tectonically located in the north margin of North China platform, is an important component part of the Erdaogou-Jinchanggouliang gold field. The rocks and ores of the deposit are characterized by enriched LREE and deficient HREE, with rightward inclined curve pattern of REE distribution pattern, which is similar to that of Early Cretaceous rocks, showing that the gold mineralization is closely related to Early Cretaceous magmatic activity. Meanwhile the REE parameters also reflect a consistent material source of diagenesis and metallogenesis. Study shows that the ore and rocks in Erdaogou gold deposit are formed by the differentiation of mantle magma and syntectic crustal rocks. The ore-forming material is derived from lower crust or upper mantle, suggesting that the gold deposit belong to meso-hydrothermal magmatic gold deposit.
