Abstract
The Anqi gold metallogenic belt, located in Toli County, Xinjiang Region, is the best one in western Junggar, where nearly 100 gold deposits (spots) have been discovered. Genetically, they are post-magmatic meso-epithermal deposits, hosted in the volcanic clastic rocks of Upper Carboniferous Baogutu and Tailegula formations. These deposits are intimate with the middle Variscan acid-intermediate intrusive. The NE-trending Anqi fault is the major fault, which serves as main ore fluid passageway and controls the distribution and occurrence of the gold deposits in the belt. The secondary NW-, NE- and E-W-trending faults are main ore-forming and host structures. The junction zone of the NEtrending and E-W-trending faults, as well as the inside, margin and contact zone of the acid-intermediate intrusive, are the most important prospecting criteria for gold deposits.
