Abstract
Based on the geological sampling and laboratory testing for the polymetal nodules in Eastern Pacific CC area, with submarine photographing and multi-frequency excitation and spectrogram (MFES) method, the morphology, types, abundance, coverage, grade, chemical composition and distribution of the nodules are studied. The forming environment of the nodules is discussed on the basis of the geological background, topography and geomorphology in the CC area. Study on the distribution regularity and forming environment of the nodules reveals the relationship between the formation and geological environment, which provides scientific basis for the forming mechanics study and resources assessment of the nodules, as well as the development and utilization of the submarine polymetal resources.
