GEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND PROSPECTING DIRECTION OF HAOLIBAO COPPER-MOLYBDENUM DEPOSIT IN ARHORQIN, INNER MONGOLIA

    • Haolibao copper-molybdenum deposit is of hydrothermal vein and porphyry type related to the Yanshanian crypto-explosive breccia-plagioclase granite porphyry and cataclastic sub-quartz-porphyry. The copper-molybdenum ore bodies are controlled by the crypto-explosive breccia pipe and rock body. The mineralization occurs in the altered cryptoexplosive breccia and silicified belt. The further exploration should be focused on the contact zone between the plagioclase porphyry granite and wallrocks, as well as the cataclastic sub-quartz-porphyry with geochemical abnormity and low resistance-high polarization anomaly.
