Abstract
The geologic hazards in Huatong copper mine in Wafangdian, Liaoning Province involve tailing dams, seawater invasion, surface collapse, water bursting from pit, wallrock deformation and roof falling. By classification and grading of the geologic hazards, with introduction of investigation methods, the causes of such geologic hazards are analyzed. The potential hazards are forecasted. An operable and effective controlling plan for geological hazards is put forward. The geological hazards in this mine are complex, so the controlling project should be actualized in several stages.
