Abstract
The Chajian ore district is an impotent component part of the Hongqiling copper-nickel orefield in Jilin Province, where numerous Cu-Ni deposits occur in different scales. More than 20 mafic-ultramafic intrusive bodies are found in the Chajian area during exploration. Among them, small Cu-Ni deposits are discovered in No. 1, No. N6, No. 9 and No. 18 rock bodies. Cu-Ni mineralization is found in Nos. 2, 10 and 14 rock bodies. Based on the characteristics of the rock bodies, with comparison to the rest areas of Hongqiling orefield, the prospecting criteria and direction are determined. It is hopeful to find middle or large sized copper-nickel deposits in Chajian ore district.
