THE CALEDONIAN MOVEMENT OF SHAGUOTUN-FULONGSHAN AREA IN WESTERN LIAONING

    • The Lower Paleozoic strata in the Shaguotun-Fulongshan area form two complete anticlines and one syncline, which trend east-west, covered by Carboniferous Benxi formation with large angular unconformity. This area has experienced both uplifting continent-making movement and compressive orogenic movement, which took place during Caledonian epoch. The conclusion is supported by fossil data.
