    CALCULATION FOR COMMERCIAL COMPONENTS AND ORGANIC CARBON CONTENTS IN SHALE GAS BY WELL LOGGING IN SOUTH CHINA

    • Based on the analysis of mineralogical composition of 74 rock samples from the shale gas reservoirs in three work areas in South China, the paper puts forward the volumetric model and calculating method of volume content for five commercial components, meanwhile, builds and analyzes the linear relations for kerogen content which is the key composition to characterize the gas content of shale. With two methods of multiple regression calculation, the formulae of organic carbon content in South China are ascertained, which have been proved to conform to actual situation of the shale gas reservoirs.
