APPLICATION OF VISUAL MODFLOW IN THE DYNAMIC SURVEY AND ASSESSMENT FOR GROUNDWATER IN SONGNEN PLAIN

  • Based on Visual Modflow (VM) software, the latest surveillance data from 2008 to 2009 is adopted to test the numerical simulation of groundwater for dynamic simulating assessment of the groundwater in Songnen Plain. The result shows that the average absolute value of model fitting error is at about 0.5 m. The VM can meet the requirements of dynamic assessment of groundwater, thus can be applied in large basins. The predicted results suggest that the growth of current groundwater exploitation is unsustainable, so more scientific and rational exploitation projects should be designed to protect the groundwater resources.
