Abstract
The garnet granite in Daqingshan area, Inner Mongolia shows irregular zonal distribution along the structural unconformity between granulite series and khondalite series. Based on field geological survey and petrographical characteristics, the transitional relation between the garnet granite and surrounding rocks can be determined. The metamorphic supracrustal rocks and part of enclosures in the garnet granite can not only be compared with those of periphery similar rocks in lithology, but also show evident anatectic reformation. Existing evidence suggests that the garnet granite should be generally formed by in-situ melting of garnet biotite gneiss of khondalite series, as a product of anatexis, which provides a basis for the evolution of anatexis in this area.
