SPOROPOLLEN ASSEMBLAGE OF THE SHAHEZI FORMATION IN SOUTHERN SONGLIAO BASIN

Form bottom to top, the Shahezi Formation in the Southern Songliao Basin can be divided into two sporopollen assemblages, i.e. the Classopollis-Piceites-Osmundacidites assemblage and the Granulatisporites-Lophotriletes-Cicatricosisporites assemblage. The former is distributed in the first member of the Shahezi Formation; while the latter, in the second member. Study on the sporopollen assemblages demonstrates that the first member of Shahezi Formation geochronologically belongs to the Valanginian Age of Early Cretaceous Epoch; while the second member, Hauterivian Age.
