ANALYSIS ON THE LITHOFACIES AND PALEOGEOGRAPHY OF LIAONING PROVINCE IN BENXI AGE-SHANXI AGE

    • The sediments of Benxi Age-Shanxi Age of Liaoning Province are distributed mainly in the Taizihe stratigraphic sub-area, with a few in Dalian stratigraphic sub-area and sporadically exposed in Jinzhou, Chaoyang, Lingyuan and Huludao areas of Western Liaoning. Based on the characteristics of lithological association, sedimentary structure, facies fossils and sedimentary minerals, the sedimentary environment of this period is subdivided into three sedimentary facies, i.e. delta, barrier coast and gulf shelf. A further analysis on the lithofacies and paleogeography of this period is then conducted.
