A GENERAL REVIEW OF THE LITHOFACIES AND PALEOGEOGRAPHY IN WESTERN LIAONING DURING CHANGZHOUGOU AGE TO TUANSHANZI AGE

    • The deposition during Changzhougou Age to Tuanshanzi Age of Changcheng Period, started from the terrigenous clastic rock foot-plate and ended by the stable carbonate rock platform, forms a complete transgression-regression cycle in Western Liaoning Province. Based on the analysis of rock assemblage, sedimentary structure, index trace elements, paleosalinity and rare earth element ratio, a regular change of sedimentary facies is found. The river delta facies is developed in the early stage; the non-barrier coast facies and shallow sea shelf facies in the middle stage; while the barrier coast facies, open platform facies and restricted platform facies, the late stage.
