Abstract
According to drilling data, the Xiaoyanggou iron deposit is composed of stratified orebodies, which are characterized by deep burial, large thickness, multiple layers and medium dipping angle, with 140 million tons of low grade magnetite reserves. The altitude of buried orebodies ranges from -100 to 838 m above sea level, with monoclinic layered shape, stable thickness, continuous mineralization and even grade. The composition of ore is simply dominated by magnetite with felsic gangue. The ores are in granoblastic and oxidation replacement textures, with fine banded, wrinkle or breccia structures. The genetic type of the Xiaoyanggou deposit belongs to volcanic-sedimentary metamorphic iron deposit. The deep prospecting achievement not only increases the resources in the area, but also provide a reference for the exploration in surrounding areas.
