CREATIVE PROCESSING OF MAGNETIC DATA FOR CHESS-BOARD STRUCTURE

    • Based on the study of interpretation for magnetic survey data in recent two years, the authors discuss the application of magnetic data for the recognition of chess-board structures. The study shows that, after the preliminary interpretation of data, there might be some hidden weak information remained for further extraction. Thus creative processing for the data is necessary. Magnetic anomaly can respond not only large and strongly anomalous structures, but also weak, crossed and mixed small chess-board structure. In the study area, the chess-board structure controls the occurrence of dikes. Because of the coverage, the strikes of the dikes are difficult to decide by direct geological observation. This problem is solved by the magnetic inference.
