APPLICATION OF REMOTE SENSING TECHNOLOGY IN MINERAL PROSPECTING:A Case Study of Bayanjie Area in Inner Mongolia

    • Due to heavy coverage in the northern Daxinganling region, it is difficult to discriminate the geological bodies on the remote sensing images. The remote sensing technique is commonly considered helpless. However, for mineral prospecting work, the key is to collect the information related with mineralization, such as linear or circular structures and alteration anomalies, which are less affected by the ground coverage. Based on the mineral survey in Bayanjie area, the linear/circular structures in different scales are interpreted first, and then the alteration anomalies are extracted with ratiosprincipal component analysis. On this basis, integrating geochemical anomalies, the key areas for further study are delineated. The exploring prospect is verified by trench analysis.
