Abstract
With the groundwater quality monitoring data of Songnen Plain in Heilongjiang Province, the chemical characteristics are described to ascertain the current situation of quality and pollution of the shallow groundwater in Harbin region. On this basis, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to assess groundwater quality. The current status of groundwater pollution is assessed by pollution index method. The results show that the hydrochemistry of the shallow groundwater is dominated by HCO3-Ca type. The Fe and Mn contents, which are controlled by the hydrochemical condition in native environment, strongly impact the water quality. The groundwater is regionally polluted, with wide range and severe degree. The main contaminants are NO3-, NO2- and NH4+, which are derived from domestic sewage and fertilizers in agricultural production. According to the data analysis, the groundwater pollution in the study area is mainly inorganic pollution.
