Abstract
The Nanfen BIF iron deposit represents one of the significant iron deposits in Anshan-Benxi area, where the exploration and evaluation efforts are being accelerated currently. Based on previous studies and available geological and geophysical survey data, as well as integrated laboratory research, this study aims to further clarify the metallogenic patterns and prospecting potential of the area, thereby providing guidance for deep exploration. A comprehensive analysis has been conducted, identifying five main ore-controlling factors: regional deep-seated faults, tectonic setting, protolith formation types, geological structures, and magmatic activities. Key prospecting indicators, including stratigraphic sequence, structural features, and geophysical characteristics, have also been determined. By integrating orebody characteristics, aeromagnetic and ground magnetic anomalies, and regional gravity anomalies, a preliminary geological-geophysical prospecting model for Nanfen iron deposit has been established. Furthermore, the study outlines prospective exploration directions and provides predictions of deep-seated orebodies, suggesting that the Nanfen iron orebody may extend to depths of 1 600-2 700 m, with significant potential for deep exploration in the area.
