Soil geochemistry and prospecting potential in the surrounding area of Jinchang ore field, Heilongjiang Province

    • The Jinchang area in Heilongjiang Province is located in the Mesozoic hydrothermal-magmatic and structural active zone of the Taipingling metallogenic belt, with favorable geological conditions for mineralization. Preliminary studies indicate that granite porphyry serves as the primary host rock for gold ore/mineralization bodies, dominated by porphyry-type metallogenies. To explore deep and peripheral mineralization targets in this region, soil geochemical surveys, induced polarization(IP) sounding profiles, and engineering verification were conducted around the Jinchang ore field. The results show that Au has the highest variation coefficient and dispersion in the surrounding area, along with a clear enrichment trend, confirming its role as the principal ore-forming element in the region. The Au1 and Au12 anomalies exhibit high intensity, well-defined enrichment centers, and distinct concentration zoning, indicating promising exploration potential. Within the HT-8 anomaly zone, the Au12 anomaly displays good correlation with other elements and is spatially associated with granite porphyry closely related to gold mineralization. Moreover, two ore bodies have been intercepted in this zone, making it a key target for further exploration. Comprehensive analysis suggests that the periphery of the Jinchang mining area has significant prospecting potential.
