Abstract
The geological environment carrying capacity in the circum-Chaohu Lake area is evaluated to ascertain the geological environment conditions and their matching degree of with social economy. Considering the geological environment features in the area, an assessment index system is set up on the basis of carrying background and actuality. Weight assessment indexes are presented by analytic hierarchy process(AHP) and expert scoring method, respectively. The evaluation results of geological environment carrying capacity are obtained with GIS spatial overlay analysis on the assessment indexes. The result shows the carrying background of geology environment in the circum-Chaohu Lake area is in good condition, with medium-high capacity area accounting for 93.52% of the total area. The carrying actuality of geology environment is in well condition, with overload area accounting for only 0.33%, scattered in Yinping Mountain, Liujiadun and Wuding Mountain.
