Abstract
The geothermal resources in Xianxian area of Hebei Province is characterized by shallow burying, high temperature and large reserves with great exploration potential. Appropriate geophysical prospecting methods can better delineate the target for reservoir structure, therefore reduce extra cost caused by improper drilling position. The EH4 continuous conductivity imaging system is used in the exploration, with the single-point measurement to collect the data of magnetotelluric sounding (MT), which greatly reduces the influence of topographic factors, thus ensure the measuring accuracy. Due to the advantages in detecting depth, the resistivity inversion result of MT method can clearly reflect the distribution and occurrence of water-and heat-conducting faults in geothermal field. The MT method achieves good results in the exploration of underground heat source, and provides a technical support for further drilling as well.
