    SEDIMENTARY CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ALLUVIUM-DILUVIUM IN NORTHERN FUXIN OF LIAONING-HURE QI OF INNER MONGOLIA AREA

    • The Quaternary alluvium-diluvium is widely distributed in the northern Fuxin of Liaoning-Hure Qi of Inner Mongolia region. Yet it is not easy to conduct in-depth research due to simple lithology and petrofacies with sharp variation in vertical and horizontal directions. According to the genesis, sporopollen and forming age, the Quaternary alluvium-diluvium can be divided into five mapping units, namely the Middle Pleistocene alluvium, Upper Pleistocene diluvium, Lower Holocene alluvium-diluvium, Middle Holocene alluvium and Upper Holocene alluvium. The distinctive sedimentary characteristics and environment of different periods of alluvium-diluvium contribute to different geomorphic features. The determination of depositional marks of alluvium-diluvium and detailed divisions can provide data for thorough study in the region and even North China.
