THE SILICALITE IN DASHIQIAO FORMATION,LIAOHE GROUP IN XIAOGUSHAN AREA, LIAONING: Origin and its relation to mineralization

    • Silicalite is found in the strata of the first and third members of Dashiqiao formation, Liaohe group in Xiao-gushan area, Liaoning Provinece, where a series of nonferrous and precious metallic mineral resources are distributed. The silicalite, characterized by micro-fine granular blastic texture, is closely associated with lead, zinc, silver and gold mineralization. By the comparative analysis of lithochemistry and fabric characteristics to those of the silicalite in Qingchengzi, it is suggested that the silicalite in Xiaogushan area is of marine volcanic effusion-hot water sediment origin. The rock is closely related to the metallogenesis. Thus the exploration in Liaohe group in Xiaogushan and surrounding areas is with great potential.
