THE PRESENT SITUATION AND DEVELOPING TREND OF THE STUDY ON MICAO-FINE DISSEMINATED GOLD DEPOSITS IN CHINA AND ABROAD

    • The micro-fine disseminated gold deposit, also called Carlin-type, is a new kind of gold deposit found in early 1960s, and widely distributed in the western United States, southwestern China, as well as Qinling regions of China. It has become one of the most important gold deposit types both in China ahd abroad. This paper gives a general description on the present situation of the study and understanding on this kind of deposit from the aspects of its concept, oreforming geological background, strata-bound feature and source stratum, mineral assemblage and occurrence of gold, genesis and ore-forming model, as well as mechanisms of hydrothermal mineralization. Our opinion on ths developing trend is also put forw ard.
